Lucia Magnani presents her Long Life Formula method

Vatican Longevity Summit 2026: Lucia Magnani presents her Long Life Formula method

The 2026 edition of the Vatican Longevity Summit, titled "Redesigning the Algorithm of Time", took place in Rome on 25 and 26 May at the Pontifical Athenaeum Regina Apostolorum. The event brought together Nobel Laureates and the world's foremost experts in longevity. In this context, Lucia Magnani, CEO and founder of the Long Life Formula method, presented the keynote "The Long Life Tree: the person at the centre — science, method and the ethics of longevity", sharing her approach to longevity that integrates scientific research with the ethical management of human fragility.

The ethical framework and the health gap

The starting point of Magnani's presentation was the gap between Italy's total life expectancy of 83 years and its healthy life expectancy, which stops at 65. Those 18 years represent the clinical and social field of action of her vision: the goal is not to extend life in abstract terms, but to ensure that each person preserves their dignity and health until the very last breath, without being reduced to a mere clinical case or a bundle of biochemical parameters.

Scientific analysis and prevention

The Long Life Formula method is grounded in fifteen years of clinical analyses. The data presented shows that oxidative stress is not exclusive to older age, but also affects young adults between 18 and 25. The effectiveness of early monitoring is demonstrated by data in the 26 to 64 age group: cases of inadequately controlled oxidative stress have halved in six years, falling from 4 people in 10 in 2020 to 2 people in 10 in 2026.

The operational method and territorial integration: the Long Life Valley

The system is structured around 7 pillars and 3 clinical phases (predictive diagnosis, personalised protocol, continuous follow-up), offering 14 differentiated pathways across Wellbeing and Health. Particular emphasis was placed on the effectiveness of the salsobromoiodic mud of Castrocaro, capable of inducing a synthesis of Heat Shock Proteins 70 (HSP70) with cellular protection that persists for 30 to 35 days.

This vision takes shape in the Long Life Valley, a territorial ecosystem integrating the healthcare excellence of the GVM Care & Research group, active for 25 years with 50 facilities and 11,000 professionals. The integration aims to transform the elderly person from a "social cost" into a resource of memory and wisdom, defined as a "mature tree" that shelters the younger generations.

Economic outlook and social responsibility

With a longevity economy set to reach 610 billion dollars by 2030 (plus 17% annually) and an over-60 population expected to double by 2050, Magnani concluded with an ethical imperative. Technological development, from genomics to artificial intelligence, must accompany human fragility rather than exploit it, preventing the emergence of a "new biological inequality" and ensuring that scientific advancement remains, always, a tool for the common good.
