Water and Mud

In the Green of the Ancient Underground Sea

Lucia Magnani Health Clinic is located in an area rich in thermal waters and clays with unique properties, particularly valuable for their therapeutic, draining, sebum-regulating, and peeling effects. These formations date back to the Paleo-Adriatic period, over six million years ago, when the Adriatic Sea covered this area, located about forty kilometers from the current coastline.

The Magic of the Waters

Sulfurous Water

The green salsobromoiodic and sulfurous waters of Castrocaro contain specific active ingredients for the treatment and prevention of arthrorheumatic, respiratory, vascular, gynecological, gastroenterological, and dermatological conditions.

Knowledge and respect for the healing properties of the waters combine with constant technological innovation and the professionalism of doctors and staff to ensure maximum therapeutic effect.

The main characteristic is the significant content of hydrogen sulfide, which has anti-inflammatory and anticatarrhal effects on the skin and mucous membranes, promoting healing and enhancing immune defenses. Through inhalation, it treats and prevents rhinitis, rhinopharyngitis, recurrent laryngitis, and chronic bronchitis. The sulfur gas alone is effective in resolving disorders such as rhino-genic deafness. It also helps resolve acne, eczema, and the repair of minor skin imperfections, especially in individuals with oily skin.

Salsobromoiodic Water

It is distinguished by being rich in iodine and bromine salts and has anti-inflammatory, antiseptic, and cleansing effects on the skin and mucous membranes, especially in cases of chronic inflammation; it also has an anti-edema and vasoactive action that counteracts water retention, even from venous and lymphatic stasis; it reduces fibrous retractions and tends to increase the elasticity of periarticular tissues and scars.

Used for baths, it helps treat joint disorders caused by osteoarthritis and is also useful in aquatic motor rehabilitation for trauma sequelae of the musculoskeletal system, as well as in the treatment of chronic venous insufficiency of the lower limbs (swollen legs, varicose veins, etc.).

Velvet Mud

The blue clays used in mud therapy, described by Leonardo da Vinci as the "bluish earth of the sea," are known for their exceptional absorbent capacity. These clays are naturally matured for 6-9 months, resulting in the so-called velvet mud: a creamy compound, rich in minerals, and perfectly adherent to the skin, optimizing the effectiveness of thermal treatments.

Salsobromoiodic mud therapy harnesses the benefits of sodium chloride, iodine, and bromine, stimulating the production of proteins that help counteract cellular aging. Another highly appreciated variant is the mud enriched with sulfurous waters, rich in hydrogen sulfide (H₂S), a natural active ingredient with positive effects on various dermatological conditions.
