You can cover your expenses with supplementary healthcare. Remember that healthcare services are tax deductible.
Many workers – employees, freelancers, artisans – and pensioners are unaware that they may already have acquired supplementary healthcare coverage through their professional activity, with all the advantages that this entails.
Supplementary healthcare is a form of protection that allows you to supplement and/or replace public healthcare services. It can be taken out independently, be part of the benefits that each company offers its employees, or be included in the rights increasingly provided for by National Collective Labour Agreements (CCNL), Supplementary Company Agreements and the regulations of various Professional Associations.
Direct reimbursement and indirect reimbursement
Supplementary healthcare allows you to obtain full or partial reimbursement for many of the healthcare services provided at your trusted facility. However, the reimbursement methods vary according to the type of company and policy and based on the agreement between the provider and the chosen GVM facility.
• If they are affiliated > reimbursement is direct
• If they do not have an agreement > reimbursement is indirect
For example, if you have a health insurance policy or supplementary healthcare with Generali, all healthcare and physiotherapy will be covered directly, as the agreement is recognised for the services of the Poliambulatorio Terme di Castrocaro.
Please also note that healthcare services are tax deductible.
Almost 15 million Italians benefit from some form of supplementary healthcare. However, many workers – employees, freelancers, artisans – and pensioners are unaware that they may already have acquired supplementary healthcare coverage through their professional activity, with all the advantages that this entails. In most cases, it is easy to find out whether you are eligible for supplementary healthcare.
